Daily Announcements -Wednesday October 22 Current

  • The ECO club is wanting your empty plastic grain and feed bags.  Please bring them to Ms.Mackenzie's room any time, in any quantity, or drop them off to Nic in the library.  Also, bagged leaves are welcome in the court yard for our school garden.
  • The Senior picture is postponed until next week.
  • No yearbook committee meeting this week.  all assigned pages must be done by next Thursday.
  • Yearbook sales are continuing at $50.00, any student or staff who wishes to personalize their yearbook and make it truly their own may use the order form handed out during TA last week.  Get those forms and money turned into the office.
  • Junior class meeting Thurs. Oct. 23 during TA  in Ms. Gardner's room B-9.
  • Senior class meeting during TA this Thursday.
  • Teen Lounge open today 2:30-6;00.
  • Quote of the Day - True strength is keeping everything together when everyone expects you to fall apart.
  • Sports today - Girls Soccer play downs Oxbow @ Stowe 3:00.  Bus leaves 12:00 Exc. 11:45.
  • French students presented about France and French foods and culture to Family and Consumer Science middle schoolers.
  • Northern Stage trip to see into the Woods - 41 students went, most of the students were seventh graders.  Our students were very well behaved and got lots of compliments from community members.
  • Four chorus students tried out for District Chorus, and one student got in:  Danielle Gordon.  Two students tried out for band.  Both Eliza Goodell and Jeremy Daigle made it in.  The concert will be in November.
  • Val Gieselman was in Burlington for the gown ceremony at UVM for nursing students to see her niece, and ran into OHS alum Eliza Russ.
  • Dan Lemay went to Johnson State College this weekend and ran into Sarah Chamberlin, who is doing well.
  • Jamie Tuttle and Amelia McIntire came up with idea for he student faculty flag football game, and lots of staff came to the game to play and watch.  This was a fabulous day! 
  • Lots of Purple Pride from Hank Van Orman about Homecoming Week and all who helped out.
  • Yearbook committee students are fabulous this year.  We have lots of middle school students who are doing a great job.
  • This year's only home cross country meet went well.  We have some really strong runners this year!  Our teams stand a chance at doing really well.
  • Girls soccer team is playing Wednesday at Stowe for the play down game.  Boys soccer game is Tuesday for the play down.
  • Saturday is the state meet for cross country.  Girls run at 10;30 at Thetford, Boys run at 12:00. Football plays at Winooski Friday Oct. 24th at 7:00.
  • Dr. Harris put in a long day at Homecoming, refereeing the game between the students and staff, chaperoning the dance and staying to cleanup.  This was so awesome, noted and appreciated
  • This Friday night from 6-8 PM there will be a reception for Alumni who have their artwork displayed in our lobby.
  • Ben Arencee goes to Thailand next week to pickup his new son.  Best wishes for this exciting adventure!


IMPORTANT UPDATE: Calendar Change Current

There has been an adjustment made to the calendar for Oxbow High School's 2014-2015 school year.

Thursday, November 6th will now be a half-day.  Students will be served lunch and then excused at 12:00.

It's not too early to start thinking about the 2015 yearbook!  If you are a member of the class of 2015 or parent of a senior, please take a moment to review the following attachments:

Event Details:Attend a free Paying for College presentation at local high schools throughout the state this fall. All sessions are open to the public. If you cannot attend the session at your local high school, consider attending one in a nearby community.

Topics include:

  • how to pay for college
  • what sort of aid is available to you
  • what forms you need to complete and when
  • how to compare college costs 


This presentation is being held in the Library.

Athletics Photo Button Fundraiser

The OHS Spirit Team is selling 3" photo buttons for your favorite high school players for only $5.00 each. You will get your button within a couple of days of ordering so act fast before the Fall season is over! Send in THIS FORM and payment to Lomond Richardson in the guidance office.
